Yellow. Ah, yellow. The above picture makes our heart sing and all we can think about is “how can I create a similar but tinier look in our dining area?”. But then we remember– the husband hates yellow. It takes a lot of convincing just to get the occasional hint of yellow into our home. We can guess what you’re thinking, give up the husband and start a life long love affair with yellow. While that is tempting, the husband is quite handy and we have to admit that he’s not the only one being stubborn. Although, he's the one that loves chartreuse…

Have you ever had a color clash with someone you lived with? Did you compromise or did you stick to your guns?

This reads like an insight into the decorating dilemmas of a polygamous household....
I was just considering going yellow as my accent color for spring/summer. This has pushed me over the edge and I am going to go for it!!!!
@idontdobeige - lol! I clicked into this entry hoping someone commented on that...now I don't have too :)
I definitely agree its harder to create a beautiful & cohesive look while making compromises with someone else's taste & agenda (if only I can figure out how to make the surround sound speakers not stick out like a sore thumb!) Yet in the end, hopefully it will be someplace you both will love....or learn to love ;)
Has AT ever explained exactly why its writers are required to use the Royal We? 'Cause, y'know, it's a profoundly dorky conceit and the source of much mockage.
LOVE YELLOW. I wanted to paint the kitchen yellow, but settled on a more mustard color with the BF. I think he has definitely come around. Especially after he realized that all his framed vintage architecture tools looked super suave with the yellow sheen on the walls.
Maxwell addressed it recently in an open thread.
I hated yellow for a long time, but have gotten used to it over the past year or two (largely thanks to its rising popularity on AT). I even added some yellow living room accents recently. I'm still amazed I did it.
I adore oversized lighting, but wow, those are some seriously oversized shades.
I want to paint the living room a very, very very pale shade of yellow. My husband hates yellow though, and refuses to go for it. But when I told him I "changed my mind" and wanted to go with a soft butter color he was all for it. Eh, whatever works. :)
black, white and yellow is a good combo. The picture with yellow is sort of hard to tolerate. Chartreuse is bad ass.
