Dark blue is one of those colors you don't always see in decorating, but when it's used well, it's great. We've seen it put to good use in small spaces and large ones alike. It works really well with a bright accent color like red or yellow, and gets even better when you add some detailed wall molding...

Shaw's Original Fir...
This post has perfect timing! We're painting our front parlor dark blue right now, and I needed a tad bit of inspiration.
These are fab rooms - My bedroom is Ocean Blue w/ Navy velvet drapes right now...
...but I think that the next color is going to be Dark Blue.
Nice, but the first and last rooms' walls are definitely not dark blue, or at least, not in these pictures.
I want to do my bedroom in a darkish blue, but I'm wondering about how to make it feel cozy in winter. With white curtains I think it would feel cool and refreshing in summer, but I need to figure out a way to warm it up in winter.
Bold wall colors are amazing--- some are so hesitant to make the commitment for fear they won't like the result! But as you can see here, it really works.
Damn, now I need to rethink my plans to repaint my living room dark navy blue...
For anyone who may see this, I'm hoping for some blue bedroom wall advice . . .
I'm moving to a small home with normal height ceilings (I'm used to far more character than this), hardwood floors . . . and I only have a budget for paint.
I'm wanting to use a lot of blue paint, different shades, throughout the house. The bedroom is serving as the greatest obstacle. It might not work.
I have this duvet: http://www.blisslivinghome.com/categories.php?cPath=152_826
and a vintage chair that is sort of the peach color from the leaves on the duvet
So given those colors, is there a blue in the world that would work, if I were to work it in some of the decor as well or I am stuck with a neutral?
ALL ideas welcome.
