These colors go so well together, that's why I chose them for my apartment. Grays and yellows can also fit in quite well.

LilyC, this is my living room also! I have a brown sofa though since I couldn't find a green one I liked...the green rug and chair and mirrors covered it. I am still a bit stuck on curtains though....

Thanks for recognizing that browns and tans read as orange. So many people can only think of the fruit color orange.

kgenesius- I went with a cream sofa, citrus green tall narrow wing chairs, sisal rug, and orange accessories. I've also got black in there as well (a black desk and a large black mirror). I went with cream linen drapes with citrusy green, olive, and orange embroidered vines on them. They're being made now. I can't wait until they are ready! I'm stuck on the color for the walls - I know, totally backwards to paint last. They are cream currently, but I was thinking of a warmer color. Who knows, I may just stick with the cream.

My whole bedroom is green and brown with a splash of yellow. I think the colors go so well together and easy to add neutrals too like creams (I have linen pillows, bed skirt and curtains to help inject a neutral color).

quiltmaster, it is interesting that you mention that because the main picture (Drake Design Associates) was also used in the Color Combo: Green, Brown, and Yellow in April

HI LilyC. I don't think it's backwards to paint last at all. It's actually very smart. Now that you've gotten all of your elements together, you can probably be a bit more daring with paint color than if you had started there first. Yes, it means a little more moving and tarping, but you can sure get a good feel of how your color swatches work.

p.s. great tip I picked up somewhere (maybe here) is instead of painting samples on the wall, use poster board. Then you have large samples that you can move around the room and test different light patterns. Plus you're not committed to any urgency to choose since your walls aren't covered with paint swatches. And if you decide to say with the cream you have, there's no repainting needed.
