Colorful sofas deliver a serious punch of color and play off of whatever they are surrounded by. Put the spotlight on them in a clean white space, get playful with patterned wallpaper or play opposites with contrasting colors. However you choose to dress them up, they promise to stand out.

Jan's Living Room (the yellow couch pic) is by far one of my favourite all time rooms that I have ever seen online. It's completely my taste and so well done that I look at that all the time for inspiration in my own decor.
I'll take the yellow one (Jan's living room) please. Gorgeous.
I looooove #3.
I plopped down on the honey yellow leather Chesterfield in an Anthropologie store...it was just insanely comfy and luxurious. Too spendy for my budget, alas, but it's going to make someone with deep pockets very happy. The kind of piece you build a room around.
Lately I've been obsessed with velvet sofas in pretty colors...the opposite of practical but there's just something about 'em.
@vacationland, I have a velvet sofa in a bright pretty color, turquoise. It's fine and no more impractical than anything else so if you want one, don't be afraid!
I have the velvet Lorimer sofa from West Elm in pool and I love it! It's extremely comfortable and pretty affordable.
I really like these colors. I've always wanted a pair of shoes in the exact color of #4.
The first and the third are both from Emily Hendersons show "secrets from a stylist".
Absolutely in love with the first room. Does anyone know where to find that turquoise beauty?
I love the turquoise number in the first picture.
Does anyone know where that turquoise one is from?
Emily Henderson of HGTV Design Star fame should be credited on the first turquoise couch and room design/styling not the unrelated blog it was copied from. Check out her work here - she's fantastic!

OMG - #3 is Emily's work too!
The first photo should have a link to Emily Henderson. I was so confused to see the YHL link because that's not their style at all. Upon clicking over, the work is credited to Emily (YHL posted her work and linked on their blog as well).
So cute, but they wouldn't stay that way long here, which is why I chose black leather.
