Digital pictures give a clear documentation of what you are shooting and definitely can be a helpful tool in design, in particular, with picking a new color scheme. Whether it's in nature, a city street or even at your local market, color is everywhere. Get out and shoot as much as you can and try shooting each place in a range of dark-to-light, you will be surprised by how this small change of light can effect the color palette. Have fun and don't worry about framing your subjects, simply shoot what appeals to you.
