There are so many ways to bring color into each room of your home. You never really know where you can find that next amazing purchase, and you certainly don't know what kind of prices to expect.

There will be those days that you will get oh-so-lucky and leave feeling like you just robbed the place. Leah of House Obsession had this luck when she recently visited a thrift store and found absolute gems for her colorful dining room.
Leah found 8 paint-by-numbers, a new 50’s side chair and two mounted plush animal heads - all for $55. That sounds like a great deal to us and we love the way the treasures look in her dining room. We also love the fact that the new chair seems to match the wall color perfectly. Don't you love when luck is on your side!

love that green!
I love the dining table & chairs...anyone know the designer?
That is so cool.
I've never been a fan of green (turquoise) but that paint is stunning, especially with the retro look. Very urban forest.
What a great, soothing space! Our dining area is the opposite; we've got a bright orange tabletop and green walls:

I love this room so much. SF Littlebird, I could be wrong but those chairs look very similar to my dining chairs which were made by Gudme Mobilfabrik.
i love that wall color...but it looks teal on my computer. it's beautiful in either case. that used to be the color in my old bedroom....
Interesting to use two tones of the same color light on the lower part and dark on the upper wall.
The very retro themed art -Lassie, Horses, tree scenes really work well here, they would look silly in my house or most places. The green is just so perfect for all of these pieces.
The dovetail on the chairs and table is beautiful, this is a nice matching set.
Love the rooms, but I have to admit before I read the last paragraph, I was thinking to myself: "They only need to get rid of those horrible paint by numbers, and this place would be spectacular."
I am in LOVE with that sideboard/hutch in the first picture!
Please tell use which paint and color you used.
That sideboard rocks!
Wonderful in every way.
Hi all! I'll try to dig up the specifics on the paint color later when I'm at home (and re-comment). I saw that someone asked about the dining set. It was manufactured by Bramin of Denmark in 1965 and designed by H.W. Klein. It's solid teak with Rosewood insets. The seats are made of a twisted paper cording. I have no info on the little chair I just bought at the thrift shop. The wallpaper inside the cupboard is Graham & Brown for Umbra.
P.S. Thanks for re-posting on AT! What a nice surprise!
I love the paint colors. Can you tell us what they are? I love the furniture, too.
what a beautiful room!
Hi again...I used Williamsburg brand paint. The darker green is CW505 and the lighter green is CW508. Again, thanks for the comments!
@Home body: That was my first thought too. The dining room is lovely and the kitschy art detracts from it, in my opinion.
Rocking room!
I LOVE the paint-by-numbers, especially the four seasons series, and can't imagine anything else suiting quite as beautifully, humorously, and originally!
Such a wonderful room!
