We've been working on a semi-secret project behind the scenes, and today I'm letting you in on the first part of it. Although I'm continually amazed by how much good content our archives keep accruing, we've known for a long time that our site needs major decluttering and reorganizing, and we're in the process of restructuring nuts-and-bolts things like categories, site searches — really the overall architecture of Apartment Therapy and our 4 subject sites.
It takes a lot longer than you might think (meaning this won't be happening right away) but once it's finished, you'll be able to find things more easily and search categories like rooms and colors. For a preview of the kind of content you'll be able to put your finger on quickly and easily, here's a peek into one main room category — the kitchen, from the Kitchn — and posts that round up color inspiration. Enjoy!

Shaw's Original Fir...
The green kitchen (first picture)... that color green is stunning!
Can't wait to see the new site features! I love the kitchen color galleries.
i luv luv luv color in kitchens and it's so hard to get clients to do anything other than creams and yellow! uuugghh... my kitchen is a deep rich opulent saturated violet -i cant stand it i luv it so much ...very unexpected.8-)
I love to use color in every room of the house. Color can make you feel good, and the kitchen is a good way to start the day with color.
I heart Apartment therapy .... however,
would you please share the paint colors? This is something that's so frustrating about shelter mags and sites ... especially when the story is about color! Many thanks!
Has anyone else gotten the e-mail about this post four times in the last five hours?
i must say, i agree with the requests to indicate the paint colors used. as a i sit in a sea of 63 greenish paint samples to paint my kitchen, it sure would be nice to get a little help from friends :)
@ ars007- yes I have... five times!
@ars007 & yukirel - yep! 4 times!!!!
I dug through the old posts: here are the paint colors from the green kitchen tour:
The office paint color is Dunn Edwards Patina Creek, Low Sheen.
paint in the breakfast nook is Dunn Edwards Creamy Corn, Low Sheen. The living room is DE Ball of String, Low Sheen. The dining room is DE Northgate Green, Low Sheen
Can't wait to see how the site changes! I'm a kind of new reader, and easier archives is a big plus for me
FIVE times. It's a great post. :)
I also would like to see a "Paint Color" section on the AT / ohdeedoh sites. I asked for this awhile back... still waiting!
AT EDITORS: A paint-specific section would be a huge, huge draw to your sites.
I love it! I just redecorated, and I painted my kitchen of turquoise, wich is this color kind of blue kind of green, and is so energetic. I say yes to colors in the right place! Btw i loooove the site
