Everywhere you look in my neighborhood of Jamaica Plain, there's color. From the festive murals to the communities of artists, the palette is bright and varied. But some of the best colors come from the homes: the Victorian-era "Painted Ladies" that turn a regular walk into a feast for the eyes.
Like my other favorite city, JP's colorful Victorians are plentiful. Though not as famous as their west-coast counterparts, our fair city's festive homes are just as lovely. Sprinkled throughout the neighborhood, discovering Painted Ladies is my grown-up version of an Easter egg hunt.
In addition to being fun to look at and photograph, these jewel-toned homes are great inspiration for interior room color palettes. If you like the way it looks on the outside, take it to your rooms inside!
