Remember the last time we showed a gray and red room? The soft pale gray walls made the bright red bed look great. But darker shades of gray look great with red as well.
Check out the charcoal wall in combination with the lighter gray we came across at the French store Laurette. It's a nice way to use a dark color without darkening the room too much. The gray furniture and bedding makes everything monotone so that the red punches really stand out.
What do you think - too much or just right?

I don't yet have kids and I never visited Ohdeeoh, so I'm surprised to see how LOW all these children's beds are. At what age do they get a real bed? I would imagine the tumble off of a tall, normal bed wouldn't be THAT damaging but perhaps I'm wrong? I don't recall anyone having these when we were children. All of us seemed to have normal height beds. Are these a new thing (just as how now it seems parents of toddlers remove their coffee table)?
ArchDarling- My son (5) sleeps in a full size bed. He fell off it last summer in his sleep and broke his collar bone. So it can be kinda dangerous.
As for Grey and Red. One of my favorite color combos.
That doll scares me.
yeah, that doll is creepy...
I love grey. I don't see how a child cannot have a stylish bedroom!
Archdarling, the trend for beds is low in general right now, even for adults. Most people are forgoing those annoying spring boxes.
I love the grey and red combo! Really, grey and any primary color works well together. Grey is my favorite neutral and I have shades of it all over the house.
And yes, that doll is creepy....but I love the lightbulb decor.
I'm not one to make negative posts, but that doll mixed with the grey makes it look like a creepy mental institution for kids. I feel inspired to write a horror movie. Lol It still has some great touches though.

One side against the wall and a temporary mesh rail or even a bolster pillow keeps kids from falling out of bed when they first move up (unless you have a flailer, then they manage to fall out of bed no matter what). Eventually they no longer need the barrier. .
Gray is going to be the next harvest gold.
I like the idea ... it just goes a little too far for me. It feels too curated and too stiff.
+1 for mental institution - it's a bit too "manacled until dawn" look
And I keep getting out voted for harvest gold in the kitchen. *grumble*
I would've gone with a bright red bed, ditch the Chucky like doll, and I like the red light bulb on the wall. Low beds are great for adults too. Ever try tying your shoes will sitting nearly 4 feet in the air when you stand a couple inches over 5 feet tall? No fun.
Any idea where I can find that bed in the US? My French is not very good :)
