If your home could use a bit of color, consider decorating with primary-colored accents. You don't need much — even a few candlesticks, a bold pillow, or a Mondrian-inspired piece of art can make a difference. Of course, if you're feeling bolder, primaries are classic enough that you can go all out without worrying about changing trends.
To avoid making your home look like a preschool, pair your primaries with sophisticated pieces and modern art. For example, set a blue & green bowl on a white end table, repaint a wood-framed mirror to hang on mellow-hued wall, or paper a wall in a bright print.

Red, Blue and Yellow are primary colours. That's it...this article probably should have been called "Pops of Bright Colours".
Pops of red, blue and yellow look great in mid-c design. I used to favor a more neutral palette. However, as I have resumed collecting vintage mid-c furniture pieces, many of which are upholstered in reds, blues and yellows, I have found it impossible to stick with my preferred neutral palette. So, I just roll with whatever colors come into house and try to find a way to make it all work.
