• Drew's Vintage Bohemian View: Drew collected thrift store mirrors with ornate borders and painted them a deep orange. The mirrors stand out against a simple white wall, and the addition of mid-century chairs keep this look original.
• Patricia's Whimsical Cottage: Patricia breaks all the rules by placing her large baroque mirror on an already mirrored wall. The contrasting enthusiasm of the hot pink mirror and the macabre glass bowl of doll heads is brilliant!
• Emily & Erick's Modern Eclectic British Eccentric Bungalow: Emily and Erik purchased their mossy green mirror at Revival Furniture, 181 N Avenue. 21, LA. The mirror is stately between the two french doors and anchors a room full of clutter, making everyday objects - like scarves and shoes -seem charming.
• Chris & Saule's Clean Eclectic Family Home: Chris and Saule's up-cycled dining room mirror is statement piece and the turquoise really pops against the dark grey walls. The fanciful mirror echos the formality of the chandelier above the table, but the color makes sure the room doesn't feel too stuffy or old fashioned.
• Look!: Painted Mirror: The mirror, bought at the Alameda Flea Market, was originally gold, but after a few quick coats of yellow paint it went from blah to ahh! This delicate yellow accent creates a calm mood in the bedroom, perfect for relaxing.

like the punny title! clever.
I just painted a gold ornate mirror hot pink. It's very similar to the pink one above but a little smaller. And to think I was going to get rid of it. I feel so on trend now!
Meetmina, I love your pop of pink!
We have a little gilded collage in our guest room.

Of course, I just re-painted that room navy. The gold frames pop off it like crazy!
I did this a year and a half ago with an old plastic mirror my grandfather had abandoned in his office.
Check it out!
Any suggestions on good ways to paint old mirrors?
JessicaLauren, I just used spraypaint, just make sure to dust/sand off the old surface so that the paint sticks, I wasn't very thorough and the paint chipped off easily in those places. I bet a can of air that you use to clean computer keyboards, etc would work well.
@JessicaLauren and RPK123--I had the same issue with paint chipping, but I thought it was cause I didn't get everything off in the tight spots. I used a fine grit sandpaper to attack the finish though... maybe a thicker grit would work better... and the can of computer duster like RPK recommended. I just blew off the dust manually and felt like I was going to pass out during the process LOL :)
