Chartreuse is one of those colors that defies categoriziation. Is it yellow? Is it green? One thing is for sure: chartreuse is hot right now. This peculiar color occupies a sort of no-man's-land between green and yellow. It's less saturated than lime, not quite as dark as olive. Chartreuse the color takes its name from Chartreuse the liqueur, an herbal concoction with a distinctive taste to match its unusual color. I also find chartreuse to be a rather polarizing color, much like pink - you either love it or you hate it. It's hard to be ambivalent about a color this bold. Shown Above: Top Row: 1.
