Q: I'm working on decorating my new home office, where I'll be consulting with clients, on a very tight budget. I want it to be a very bold and fashion-forward kind of space, while still feeling comfortable, intimate and accessible to even my more conservative clients. I painted the walls turquoise and now I want to know what color to paint all the other "accent" pieces in the room? I really wanted to have an office that matched my company logo, which is basically honeysuckle pink and lipstick red, but I'm worried that red will clash with the chair and the pink might be overkill with the blue walls?

Shaw's Original Fir...
This is not exactly the answer you are looking for, but I think you could go with either hot pink or red, if you'd change the wall to a more deeper blue.

I'd also add some off white in there, perhaps for the drapes.
this is off the subject but I need some advice for my living room and I cannot figure out how to post photos and questions.. I'm new here..
Thanks!
If you really want to paint the woodwork, you could do it a darker grey than the walls. Add a bold rug, perhaps with a geometric pattern in the logo colours.
I would paint that trim a crisp white and use white, red, and pink accessories. Recover the chair to include all four colors and have your guest chairs in a similar palette. Also, make sure the turquoise accents are kept super light.
I think if you used the colors in moderation and found the right patterns, they could be incorporated in a fun, sophisticated, yet inexpensive way.
First, while I love natrual wood, the door and trim does not seem to blend well with the walls. It could also just be the photo. But I would paint the window trim, door, and door trim a crisp white.
Second, a graphic area rug would do wonders under the desk and chair. Target, HomeGoods, Overstock, and suprisingly, WalMart all have reasonably priced rugs. I would go for a large, geometric print, in a black/white combo or possibly red or pink.
Third, I'd ditch the chair. The print is too small and the paisley doesn't lend to a sophisticated red/blue/turqouise theme. I'd find a wingchair from Ikea or Craigslist, or target. It would be white or the pink color in your logo.
I'd also find some curtains or roman shades. Using white is cheaper, and easier later if you want to change up the color scheme, but finding a bold pattern in red or pink would be nice too.
Finally, make trips to Target and Homegoods for bright accessories. I recently found some great desk accessories at TJMaxx and Homegoods. A colored lacquer box or tray, in combination with an acrylic/lucite lamp with a patterned/fun shade would be a great way to incporate your company colors.
I always love the idea of using a wall mirror to reflect the colors you already have in the room.
I think if you spend some time searching, you could reasonably do this for under $300. You might have to get a bit crafty, but I've re-decorated an entire apartment for $300 recently, so I know it can be done!
I don't think either red or pink is going to look particularly great with that very reddish woodwork and floor. I'd consider some bright citron or lime green.
What kind of business are you doing from home?
If you're an attorney, accountant or financial planner and wish to be taken seriously, it might not be wise to have such brightly colored walls...
With those blue walls, I would consider doing trim and furniture and window treatments in a crisp, high-gloss white, and then have one focus object (maybe a large framed poster of your logo) in the hot pink/red color as a nod to your brand.
You don't want to go too Willy Wonka in an office.
Boy, on my monitor that wall color looks dusty blue-gray, not turquoise at all, so it's hard to know what to say, since can't tell if the photos or the description are more accurate. From what I see, I would be inclined to agree with commenters who suggest white (or, depending on how warm that blue really is, perhaps ivory) and then accessorize for color. Also agree with the commenter above who notes that the stain on the door and doorframe appears to clash with your wall color, and if that's true in real life, I would definitely paint over it.
I would incorporate a lime green into the mix. You seem to already have some lime green in there that could really look nice against the blue.
I have a similar scheme in my home office with bluish grey walls, wood trim and a black desk. I've got pops of pink in my room difused by lots of cream. I think that's the key -- you can use honeysuckle pink or red (I wouldn't use both), as long as you balance it out with a lot of neutral white or cream.
I love yellow with aqua. Some mirrored surfaces might be nice if you don't allow children in the room. Also, there is a blog called http://www.houseofturquoise.com/ That can be great for inspiration for this type of color palette.
I agree with using HouseofTurquoise.com; also, check out Houzz.com for inspiration. I would go with neutral furniture, so that if your color scheme is ever changed in the future, or you move the furniture between rooms, it is more practical. Since the floor is wood, I would vote for black furniture. Maybe a small piece in a color for some pop.
As for another color, if your walls are actually turquoise (they appear gray-blue on my monitor also), I like the idea of using a yellow or green to offset the blue & red. But I'd select a less saturated version of those colors. Or maybe even a darker, less saturated plum/red-violet, if I'm seeing the colors in the chair correctly. Is it possible for you to submit additional photos that allow us to see the chair closer?
I'm with the white trim and the pops of color via accessories camp.
I'd even add some white lacquer and acrylic furniture.
Had you not painted the walls blue, I would've gone with white walls/door/trim (I'm a white kinda girl) and then added all your bright color with an area rug, and big pieces of art on the wall. Maybe a huge mirror with a regency frame painted in the fuschia. Reupholstered that chair with the red/fuschia flower print from marimekko.
