Paint the inside of your closets the wildest, most glamorous colors that you'd be loathe to use on walls.
Hmmmmm... I was thinking of painting the inside of my closet (it's fairly small) since it's kinda dusty and not a very good paint job to begin with, but I was just going to paint it white to show off my clothes.
Now I'm thinking, maybe I should paint it some fabulous color!

I'm dying to take my vintage Schiaparelli hat box to the paint store, have them match the color, and paint the inside of my closet.
In my last apartment, while purging the demons of the former roommate, I painted the inside of my bedroom closet pink and purple! It was a little too... Easter egg when empty, but once my clothes were in, it was just a nice accent.
In my current house, when my husband re-did the bathroom (before we were married), he chose to remove the doors from the closet and paint it an accent color. It's one of my favorite decorated area in the house:
