So Emerald is in, we hear! But what about peacock? A few years ago peacock (aka teal) was in style in various areas of design and then it seemed to disappear as quickly as it came. Recently, however, we've been seeing it creep into interior shops and design magazines. What do you think? Is peacock in?
Here are a few of our favorite peacock finds:
1. Tongue-in-cheek, obviously. This peacock print, by Ryan Berkley is the perfect way to show your spirit if the color doesn't quite match your decor, $10 from Assemble Shop.
2. Onto true peacock blue: the Ebb Swoon pillow from Crate & Barrel, $24.95 for just a touch of color.
3. A throwback in style and color: the Willa Peacock Side Dining Chair from Crate & Barrel, $149.00
4. Another little accent: the brushstokes napkin set from West Elm, on sale for $9.99 for a set of four.
5. An investment (be sure you love the color!): the Avec Peacock Apartment sofa from CB2, $1,199.00.

Ahhh that's what you call it. Not just "darker teal". Damn right its in! This is the "boy color" we plan on decorating our nursery with along side a dark grey.
It was the color of my bedroom for the greater part of my childhood, but I just called it Mystique (from X-Men).
Peacock rocks!
I love this color, especially in the chair and napkin versions. Much nicer than emerald, I think.
Sure it's "in." Everything on the aqua-coastal-turquoise spectrum seems to remain popular, and teal--or peacock--in all its intensities, is part of that continuum. It's a surprisingly versatile hue and can read as a neutral. It plays well with much in the brown/beige/natural linen range and looks fantastic with brass and hammered gold and copper. Terracotta/pumpkin and chartreuse/citron/mustard play well with it, too. Nice to see it getting some love.
I have always loved this color! I should use it more often in my home, I use it a lot in my wardrobe
i love it! so versatile! <3 with burgundy
Bahaha I want that print. It is my favorite color so it is always "in" at my house. I finally found a quilt that incorporates it with pink and orange and is lovely.
It's in at my house!
Gillianne, well put!
I love this color with orange. I gravitate toward this color for accent pieces and always have because it really does read as a neutral.
Love it. Works well in Arts and Crafts colour schemes, modern schemes, art nouveau schemes (with pinks and greens), even nice against all that wood in handcrafted modern schemes.
didn't know it went out of style. i hang peacock curtain panels every fall:

Gets my thumbs up.
Hooray, Peacock! Can I PLEASE forget about "Emerald" now?
always gorgous. I have an enamel vase, an old cheap rug overing an ottoman, and numerous other things this color in my living room. It looks great with red, brown and other blues.
This has always been a favorite of mine!
We just bought a house, and this was the color we chose for our bedroom. It's beautiful. Looks terrific with reds. :)
The fact that you called it "Mystique" made my day. A perfect color description. Grazie!
Any color used well never goes out of style. I've seen country blue + dusty rose (1990s color combo) used very well just a few weeks ago. It wasn't on 1990s-era furniture, which made a difference.
I painted my living room a luscious peacock hue this past summer and it looks fantastic. It elevated all my furniture and accoutrements to a whole new level of "stylish" without being stuffy. It's such a fun color!
