In my own apartment, the tiny bathroom has the only walls painted something other than white or gray (teal).
The examples above show how colorful paint, tile, and wallpaper can liven up any style of bathroom. If the collage in Image 1 is a bit much for you, calm but colorful aqua is a good standby (Images 4 and 10).

wow, the last bathroom is exactly what i was going to do with my small bathroom...the marble black and white floor...the wainscoting...
Wow! At first I thought I hated photo #1, but suddenly it's really growing on me.
Our bathroom is wall-papered in this hideous hunter green/purple paisley print from the 80s, so I never thought I'd like busy walls in my small bathroom.
Perhaps, though, I should modify my prejudices!
I just did something similar to the last one but used seafoam/teal vinyl wallpaper instead of paint. The first pic makes me think of the fatty crab bathrooms.
#8, such a beautiful shade of blue. Though I'm not sure about an entire room in that color... it might be depressing.
The first pic is hilarious. I kind of like it.
Lot's to love here. Love the dark teal over white in #7. #10 is just classic with white bead board wainscoting and watery blue-green walls. The coat tree in the bathroom might work better in a bigger bathroom, it just seems in the way here.
I'm pretty sure I own the magazine that #6 was featured in...I've seen it before and it's always been one of my favourite bathrooms.
I love all the colourful bathrooms! Can't quite appreciate #1 though...and that hand in #2 is really freaking me out.
The first bathroom is good in case you just "accidentally" splatter........................
Love the photos! It's nice to see some bright color in rooms, where I live everyone is scared to use anything other than white, gray, and brown. I don't usually like yellow in bathrooms, but the two pics you posted with yellow are gorgeous!
#1, Fox terriers and flowers, jeez...
