The Mannington Commercial showroom at NeoCon was sporting this totally-on-trend parquet flooring in a herringbone pattern. The wow factor was provided by the unusually fashion-forward mix of color and wood tones - the funky modern rose and blue with the light and dark wood textures.
It's warm and quirky and while it would be an very OTT choice for a residential environment, it gets the creative wheels turning on a lot of levels - the mix of pattern, texture and off beat (but harmonious!) colors is worth mulling over - pure inspiration!

White Enamel Four-P...
This looks like Missoni for Floors!
Small doses only. Maybe a foyer.
I actually think it looks awesome, but man, parquet flooring = a real commitment for something that, as you say, is so "on trend" and thus will date quickly. But I love the look.
Without the rose and blue elements (ie, just the multicolored wood-toned pieces), this would be closer to classic. Any comments on parquet's longevity with kids and dogs?
Did they tell you much about it? Is wood the only material used, or is it mixed media?
I like it. It's like walking on a fun, colorful tweed.
Pretty sure the first people to do this is the design group Raw Edges - they did t for Stella McCartney's shop. Here is a pin I pinned about it - I have more pins of their photos but if you click thru to their site you could find more:
