I love these dark browns so much I could write about them every week. I wrote about my own brown accent wall last summer (Galvanized UL-12). Compared to my room, Armagnac is actually lighter and more chocolatey; Galvanized is like an espresso bean, though both have a red base. (And if anyone wants a green-based brown room, let me know.)...
This is a bedroom in a Brooklyn brownstone, with a second floor fireplace on the left. The effect is certainly womb-like, but to see the color in situ you would understand that the wide trim, enormous windows, white bedspread and afternoon sunlight all help to break things up, so that you never feel trapped. Not to everyones taste, perhaps, but for those of us who like that sort of thing its heaven.

I've got an interest in a green brown. I have a white built-in hutch that I think would look great next to a green brown. But...um...my other walls are an intense chartreuse-y green. It's a really vibrant room and I love the green and so does everyone else. I've been thinking of contrasting it with a calming and warm dark green brown. Good idea or insane?
Maybe I should send some photos...would that be of interest?
My boyfriend and I painted 2 accent walls in our living room in a rich, dark, chocolatey brown 4 years ago. Our furniture is mostly stark white as is our window treatments and we use art to give the room pops of bright sunny yellow and red. It's kind of funny, when we first did it, our friends and family were dubious and now, 4 years later the same friends and family keep commenting on how fresh it looks. I guess 4 years of seeing chocolate walls featured in magazines can sway taste. Finally, I am vindicated!!! *LOL*
