Here I have a client who was born in Iran, who wanted to paint her whole apartment red. I understood what she was after, but I had to give her "permission" to go wild in a way because everyone she knew tried to talk her out of it. And indeed, we started out off-white. Ugh.
For me, the key to opening her imagination lay in the small chest of drawers pictured here. It's just a rare, wonderful little thing with a color that could be expanded across the whole room. Lattice Red feels like a true red to me, with notes of Vermillion.
Every room in this apartment is a different color of red, and as you move through the apartment you feel as if you're moving through a series of Persian tapestries, with contemporary influences. Better than off-white, isn't it?
