People love to customize their laptops. Now that other devices are becoming very popular, they too will be customized. It's sad when a company only offers their devices in one color. The Kindle has slowly become more prevalent in our modern lives, yet it still is available in only one colors. Thanks to a some enterprising companies, we are seeing a very different Kindle!

If you don't want a stock Kindle 2, now is the time to get a Colorware Kindle. Colorware has a multitude of different colors available, any will suit your fancy better than the stock white one. There are these great colors, from jade to romance. The paint job isn't cheap. Expect to pay at least $600 to get your Kindle. Naturally, that price includes a Kindle! If you already own a Kindle, Colorware will color it for about $200. It will take between 2 to 3 weeks for you to get your Kindle back.

If you hate the stock drab white colors of the Kindle, this is the way to go, unless you decide to cover your Kindle with stickers. There always is a duality in this debate. Do you keep your device pristine, as original or do you customize it to your heart's content? If you don't plan on reselling it, you can do what you want. The trouble with stickers and other customization is that they tend to lower the resale value. Personally, I'm all for it. I've rarely resold laptops or iPods, so I can see people sticking with their Kindles for the long haul. [via Crunchgear]
