We meant to blog this collection of colorful kitchens during Colors Month... oops. Oh well, we still love the apple-green cabinets, stainless steel countertops, mismatched chairs, and the silver wallpaper used on the ceiling of this kitchen.
And the cheerful colors and back-painted glass backsplash behind the stove of this one.
And that it's the accessories that add the color in this kitchen.

Cute, but I think apple green is to our decade what avacado green was to the 70s.
LOVE IT... If you have to live in freezing gray Canada... then you better brighten up your house with warm colors.
ahahhahaha only someone that's never been to any of the cities in Canada would call it freezing and gray...unless you're talking about the Yukon, in which case, fair ball.
I don't think apple green has ever caught on to the extent of avocado. I've always held that stainless steel will be the avocado of our generation.
westie's right jenzoe. i mean, have you seen Vancouver?
the top one has been featured in Dwell. Really cool place.
So true, Josh.
I really like that second kitchen.
I love the wallpaper on the ceiling! It's such a fun idea for a small area, and you could change it easily if it gets old. It's a great way to add decoration without adding clutter. (I prefer a bare counter!)
We see a lot about mid century modern but this really has the seventies look as I remember it.
Gourgous!!
gorgous!!
I'm from Canada (and now live in NYC) and it IS freezing and gray, at least during the winter months in Southern Ontario. New York City is pretty freezing and crappy during winter too though.
Ya for bright colors and plane tickets to Mexico!
I've always thought the same as Josh.
like the art in the second one.
I love the third one! Same colours that I'm using in my kitchen.
I'm diggin' those linens.
gorgous SHOULD be a word
GORGOUS!
more filling and satisfying
That apple green color in the first picture looks mold colored to me. It would freak me out for a kitchen.
Love the overall look of it and art in the second and third, though.
Dig the wood/metal dining chairs in pic 1 -- Remind me of art school chairs.
Anyone identify?
The first one is cool, but strikes me as exceedingly trendy for something as expensive to redo as a kitchen.
In five years (or less), I would suspect someone in Canada will be suffering a kitchen design hangover.
Kitchens #2 and (especially) #3 look like they have a shot at aging gracefully.
