In many ways Marti Guixe's Combine Sofa is the antithesis of my preference in home furnishings. You see, one of my biggest decor pet peeves is the over-pillowfication (pillowitis, in medical terms) of seating and beds. I'm all for comfortable, but when you begin covering every square inch of resting surface with pillows, you're not solving an issue of comfort, but creating a problem of clutter in my decor book. But there's something hilarious about this sofa, combining the modern Bertioa-like wire frame structure with a plethora of cushions of various shades and patterns into a customizable and adjustable seating solution. How can something look both uninviting and comfortable all at once?
