112509_rg_comcastTV_01.jpgWhen Comcast TV Everywhere goes online next month, existing subscribers will be pleased to now that it's free. This is a service to stream on demand programs online on different devices, such as your computer or your HTPC.

112509_rg_comcastTV_02.jpgWe think that when something is free, it's always good. Your subscription will let you authenticate 3 different devices per household. You can then proceed to stream on demand wherever your are. Now that sounds pretty cool, kind of like an alternative to other streaming services like Hulu. The only bad news is that anything that is streamed goes against your monthly 250GB cap and there isn't word yet on HD streaming. Nevertheless, this is a good first step.

It's good to be able to use your computers in this fashion, streaming content no matter where you are. It speaks volumes on how the internet and cable are close to merging into one service. This means that you can watch your shows anywhere, not just at home. Your home theater will travel with you, from room to room. TV Everywhere is currently in beta testing and has 5,000 subscribers.
