Do you have a room in your home that needs a makeover? Let's do it together! We've got the decorating process all mapped out in a short series of lessons, which walk you through the steps of tackling a room in your home. At the end of the course, we want you to end up with a room you love and feel good in. Get ready to feel like a decorating ninja, and go back to school with us!

Here's how it will all go down: Over the next week, we'll walk you through the basics of decorating a blank room. Each lesson we'll explain the next step in the process and what you need to know to confidently move forward. We'll use an actual living room makeover as a case study of sorts, to illustrate different concepts and options throughout the course. (If you missed the reveal of Ashley's new living room, go check it out now!)

This isn't about renovating or remodeling a home. We're going to assume that you are finished walls and floors that aren't going to change too drastically. This is about building a room, layer by layer, until it's a comfortable and personal space that you love being in.

Here's the secret. Designing a room usually doesn't happen all in one fell swoop. It’s an on-going process and you continue to tweak and adjust over time. Once you have the core components down, you adjust, swap certain things out for others, and just generally keep switching things up. This is especially true when you’re talking about the art and accessories layer. So don't panic! We're going to do this in manageable pieces, where there's a lot of flexibility, and you can do it at your own pace. It will be so much fun you won't be able to contain yourself.

So follow along day by day if you like. Or pin these posts, save them for later, and revisit when you're ready.
