I am 5'10 and I have tried the Sparrow... I loved it! It is very slim (as far as gliders go), and we were also considering it for a tiny room. The fabric was so lovely too. Just as a side-note, the arms are pretty low - I liked this feature, as it would allow you to position a pillow for feedings (or what have you).

My husband is 6'2 and I am 5'10, we bought the Monte 'Grano Glider Recliner' for our nursery (due date end of august). We both love the fit, slim profile and the plan to move the chair out of the nursery eventually. We tried a few different gliders/recliners but the Grano gave us the best fit and tucks perfectly into a small alcove in the nursery. We did not go with the ottoman, preferring to use instead a little half foot high antique footrest passed down through the family. Try the Grano :) and see what you think, should be on the link mentioned by the editor.

There is a store Addo Novo in the South End/Boston that carries Gus furniture. I am not sure if they have it in the store but it is on their website.

I'm six foot, my hubby is 6' 2"... We bought a hand made cedar rocker from a local artisan in Alabama. It's a bit like the rockers at Cracker Barrel... If you're interested, I could give you his contact info. Anyways, it's taller than most, which is why we loved it so much, and only $150. My MIL made cushions to go on it, too.

That said, I rarely used it in the baby room until after she turned one - to put her to bed with. I rarely used it to nurse in because her bedroom was boring to be in ALL DAY LONG. I nursed in our recliner in the living room with the pretty TV. :)

So, maybe you don't "need" a rocker in the baby room until later on... I love my cedar chair but just didn't use it as much as I thought I would.

I'm 5'9 and my husband is 6'1 - we have the Monte Luca rocker (not really a glider, but smoother than an old-fashioned rocker) and love it. Our nursery is about 10' x 8' and it fits nicely with a crib, changer, side table and small bookcase. We don't have the ottoman because for nursing it's so much more comfortable to have one of the Medela slanted footstools. I painted mine to match the charcoal gray color of the glider and it looks great, plus it doesn't take up all of our floor space like the upholstered ottoman would have.

The Luca is slim and has higher arms to support your body while nursing. I use a buckwheat hull pillow which is so comfortable that I can't believe it isn't a standard baby item. The regular boppy is basically pointless once you use a buckwheat pillow - no matter what chair you end up with, go for the good pillow!

Thanks everyone! For those of you suggesting the Monte chairs, I'm guessing it does it not bother you that there is no head rests on the sides of the chair?
I'm looking into buckwheat pillows now too. The Boppy never did seem to cut it with my first :)

I too live in the Boston area and was interested in the Gus Glider. There's a store in Easthampton, MA - KW Home - that carries Gus furniture and has the Gus Glider in store. My husband and I took a trip to try it out (he's 6', I'm 5'9") and we both really liked it. It's on our tax-free weekend purchase list. There's also a sale on it that runs through that weekend too (20%) - a great time to get it at a great price! :)

OK- I contacted Gus and they are going to ship a chair to the Addo Novo store. I asked if it would arrive in time for the 20% off sale that ends on the 14th and they said to check by the 10th. We'll see! In the meantime, I'm still interested in other suggestions.

I'm a big fan of the monte gliders- have you seen their vola glider- similar to the gus one in terms of wings/head rests on the sides.
