Tomorrow we'll be bringing you an interview with Ms. Monica Pedersen herself, but first we'd like to give you some background information on this talented television and real-life designer.
Monica is perhaps best-known for her work on HGTV, where in addition to various hosting duties she is lead designer for the Chicago-based production of Designed To Sell. We love how cool she stays under pressure to get a home ready for market with only $2,000. And we totally respect the way she adds graphic punches to her rooms, making them not just salable but also livable.
With a handyman father and a seamstress mother, Monica inherited skills from both of her parents, getting as hands-on as her projects require. We have witnessed her unstick a giant mirror from a wall, but she's also perfectly comfortable creating inexpensive throw pillows to bring color into a space. Her love of fabrics stems from her time traveling as a model, and this exposure to the aesthetic world developed her keen eye for interiors.
We really dig designers who know how to work within a budget, who aren't afraid to pick up a drill or a paintbrush, and who are willing to share their advice with us. Look for our chat with Monica tomorrow!
