I've been toying with the idea of a chandelier in my dining room. Most look at me and say "What"?, because it's so NOT me but if I can find a kick-ass turquoise colored one, it's going up. It's got to be whimsical though. Oh, but the thought of cleaning it....
It helps to have a tall ceiling. We had a bathroom on our first floor that had a 9 1/2' high ceiling above the drop ceiling the previous owners installed. I thought it would be fun to rip out the old drop ceiling and put a chandelier in the room. We then opted to go modern and hung the IKEA Knappa Pendant and it looks awesome.
Ohhh, I want that chandelier. Does anyone know where I can find one like it for a reasonable price?
@Lyonstill Why don't you find an afordable chandalier you like the shape of make it turquoise yourself? There are LOTS of paint options out there, and i think it would be rather easy to DIY. Just take off the crystals and paint with the right paint for the material. Bam Perfect lighting that you want.
I have an old chandelier from my great grandmothers. I have such plans for it. Not sure where yet. But it will be used in my places. I'm thinking my bedroom too... only I'd have to figure out a way to get in the right location...
CRICHELLE DESIGNS: I've look at craigs list and can't find the perfect one but I'm with you on DIYing one. So I will continue the search. I would love to see what you do with your Great Grandmothers. Thanks so much. :o)
