We saw this new desk, the Indochine, in Currents last week and went looking for it. We were reminded of how good Conran really is (as well as how expensive) and thought to lay out three top picks for desks that are small in stature and offer the ability to hide themselves away:

  • The Indochine (2100$):This campaign desk is made of solid, kiln dried rosewood with a leather writing interior. Better yet, the whole thing knocks down for storage.
  • The Nexus (1150$): This is a childlike but eminently useful expandable desk with a solid beech frame and a cherrywood veneer top. Sure to become a conversation piece as well.
  • The Albini (2600$): With a polished steel base, dark stained oak veneer drawers and solid glass top, this guy is light on the eye and only 48" wide. MGR
