"...the Trianon is one of my favourite apartment buildings in Los Angeles; it was was designed in 1928 by Leland Bryant, who is best known for the Sunset Tower/Argyle Hotel. Well, I suppose I don't just love the building (which seems well-cared for), I just really love the french chateaux-inspired architecture that is mixed in with all the other styles around town. I don't know what perpetuated it, but I suppose it was all a part of the fantasy of Hollywood."

Absolutely gorgeous. I love this feature. Maybe there aren't as many years to LA's history as there are to Boston's or NYC's, but the years LA does have are unique and interesting.
I used to live here in the early 80's , it was a fabulous building and loved living there.
I lived in the Penthouse upper left side of the building rent then was $1750 per month.
It was a two bed 1 bath, but fabulous bath with a huge living room, dining room and great old California style galley kitchen.
In this incrediably massive building there are only 4 apts. on each floor with a semi private elevator that you shared with the one other apartment on your floor.
Truly a fabulous place to live!
At that point in time the rest of the neighborhood was awful, and you had to step over stew bums sometimes to open the gate to the garage.
Has the neighborhood improved?
I wonder how much rents are there now.
Oh, and by the way the little space to the left is one unit of 3 bedrooms, and Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks lived in that while they were building Pickfair.
