In a cluster of apartment complexes that look numbingly simliar, the Villa San Pasqual stands unapologetic in all its turquoise-and-orange glory. It's been honored with historic landmark status by the city of Pasadena for its fine example of mid-century architecture (and perfectly manicured lawns). Driving by this place is a bit like going through a time warp to 1953 when Eisenhower was president, hula hooping was the hot thing to do, and for every Rebel Without a Cause was a Father who Knows Best. Complex Love is a photographic celebration of Southern California's unique apartment architecture history. Live in or nearby an apartment complex of notable or unusual design?
