We were sniffing around some of our favorite design sites, and came across this amazing concept clock! Now on our list of concepts we really hope come to fruition (like the Polaroid digital frame), this clock is a very cool design by a very cool designer. Check it out after the jump...
Vadim Kibardin, a russian designer that Wallpaper magazine included in a list of 40 designers that will "change the world," has come up with this slick wall clock that looks like an LCD display, but changes from white to black depending on the light.
Black and White Clock has a self contained power supply and independent control, so there are no messy cords in the way of the clean, modern design. We love the homage to our old timex and swatch watches of the 80s. The independent light sensor dictates whether the numerals are illuminated or dark, so this clock is visible at all times of day and night.
We love the idea and hope that they find a manufacturer soon so that we can we can start saving up for one!

I love this idea. The only thing that would stop me from getting one would be a ridiculous price point. I hope that doesn't happen.
Nice. And thanks, Jessica, for letting us know at the top that this is still just a concept. Saves us the time of scrambling around the internetz trying to find a place to buy it.
Hmm, it seems like a good idea but I think it would be a bit relentless and robots-eye-view to live with.
Clean, basic, functional, stripped down...for me it's like pure minimalist perfection... love it!!
Lovely!
What a neat idea! Maybe I'll live long enough to see them being mass-produced at a reasonable price.
(and, forgive my ignorance: is "self contained power supply" just a clever way of saying battery-powered, or is there something more magical/technological at work?)
