It's travel month so we thought a look at some interesting garages with contemporary designs might be fitting. These remind us a bit of the mother of all contemporary garages: the glass one in Ferris Beuller's Day Off!
We love that the second garage is not enclosed, which makes it a little less cumbersome to the front facade of the house (don't you hate it when the garage takes over the front of a home?). We also love the lantern effect of the translucent garage doors in image 3.
What do you think? Do you like a contemporary garage or is a garage always just a garage?

I love these garages. My only problem is that I have too much junk in my garage now. But with one of these garages, that's a good reason to get rid of some of my junk!
I love a clean, sexy garage. They are fabulous work spaces. People tend to pile their junk in them but they're really amazing places to get stuff done.
There are lots of cool carports in my neighborhood. I love the idea, garages just end up becoming a catchall for clutter.
I read Temporary Garage instead of Contemporary. I saw the pictures and got real confused what was temporary about these clean, beautiful, modern, contemporary- ooooooooh. Got it.
I love this post. The garage is so often overlooked. I definitely do not have a garage as fancy-pants as these but a bit of paint went a long way to help brighten up my dreary garage: http://dans-le-townhouse.blogspot.com/2011/06/prettiest-one-on-block.html
I love the car and the garage. I have always wanted a classic MB like that one pictured. It looks perfect in that little garage.

I love the industrial look of the one garage that looks like a converted hanger. I'm working on my garage from inside out and love an industrial look from stainless light fixtures to stainless steel storage cabinets like I found here at http://www.mystoragecabinets.com/ststca.html
