Architect Paul Bernier renovated an existing home in the Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood of Montreal to better fit the needs of his family of four. The 3-story addition at the rear of the home packs more space into the tiny urban lot. A central stairwell and open slat landings allow natural light to flood the space.
The existing home is brick and the entire addition was completed in wood — a nice contrast by Paul Bernier that is even more evident in the many pictures on Contemporist | The Bernier-Thibault Residence by Paul Bernier.
