Norwegian architect Gudmundur Jonsson designed this sleek white apartment for himself in Reykjavik, Iceland — and this is one time when comments about it being "cold" are probably valid!

I like the bathroom and the kitchen - especially the chrome pole (probably structural) but the living room is a bit dull. Even without adding color, they could liven it up a bit with white accessories or maybe some various textural fabrics/textiles?
I like it - simple, clean, and relaxing. An escape from the stresses of the work day. I love the painting in the 3rd photo.
It's too stark for my tastes. I really like things to me more traditional. I love white, but I like using it in more of a cozy, shabby chic way I suppose. It's a beautiful contemporary space, but I don't know if I could get comfortable in it.

I think for a space like that to really be interesting, the architecture needs to be exciting. Otherwise, it's just a white box. I like the art on the wall and the tree you can see out the window. Maybe it would seem cozier if it were photographed with the inhabitants doing something inside their home.
gross
Just add some books, flowers and food in the kitchen.
I would lose my mind here. The outside is pretty, though.
I love it.
There were actually some iceberg photos on AT awhile ago (I think!) that I would use here.
I'd spend a winter's night here with my sweetie... and some ice cold vodka!
love it, love it, love it!
is it just me or does the chrome (support?) pole look strangely like a stripper pole? don't know if i'd want that in my kitchen...
This is like my dream home: simple, clean, pretty. I love the painting too. I would probably have a little more texture since I am all about the sense of touch but to look at, I love it. It feels calm and serene.
Just have to point out that the architect Gudmundur Jonsson is Icelandic but works out of Oslo.
beautiful
Perfection! The white minimal open feel. The recessed lighting!
it's not homely enough! i think that blue light makes it cold, and it definitely needs more texture. it's a huge contrast to the warmth on the outside of the building!
Semi-on topic: Would like to know the best knock-off LEM Pistol stool available (pictured in steel/white leather here) that isn't $600 . Would like to find one sub $200. Any recommendations? Looked at Overstock.com but worried it might look too cheap in appearance.
*brrrr* I said it's cold in there. There must be Icelanders in the atmosphere.
Seriously though, it's lovely as a design concept and admirable in its restraint, but I would also go stark raving mad living there (emphasis on stark).
@blackandwhite24 I bilieve the painting is by Húbert Nói, and Icelandic painter. It looks like his style. And yes, the architect is Icelandic.
A lot of newly renovated or newly built homes look more or less like that here in Iceland - everything is white or black and white with either steal or red accessories. I think it's absolutely awful when in Iceland because it's too cold for such a grey landscaped country as ours, but I do like the cleanliness and think it would be pretty nice in a warmer climate.
However it's absolutely not my style, I LOVE colour way too much to live in a colourless home :o)
