If the interiors of this home weren't enough to make you drool — check out the view! Situated on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Aptos, California, the design for the Zeidler Residence by Ehrlich Architects uses roof decks, balconies, double-height windows and lots of outdoor living space to take full advantage of the amazing location and views.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I'm in love. I used to live in Santa Cruz and before that I spent a few summers in Aptos. I hope those folks that live there know how lucky they are. I miss that beach so much.
Ohhh, to be rich.
The house itself is nice, but all the Catalog-Chic Bauhaus/MCM furniture leaves the place with all the warmth of a plastic surgeon's office.
It is possible to have warm, comfortable decor within cutting-edge architecture - But this ain't it.
I live near the beach (Mediterranean Sea), and all I think about when I see a house like this is how much glass there is to clean! The salty breeze can do quite a bit "hazing" and staining of the windows. I guess you need a dedicated window cleaner. I have to wash mine inside (kids) and out about once every two weeks! I could not imagine having to also clean the balcony, side walls and front door - which all appear to be made of glass!
Sorry... I cannot enjoy this fantasy without thinking about the reality!

Excuse me while I drool!! Not a big fan of the decor style, but I love the architecture of the house itself.
I was invited to a party in a house like that. I liked the party and I liked the house. My next visit was at night with just the two owners present, and I was shocked how different the house felt: gloomy, comfortless, lonely. Too much black night coming through all that glass.
The design of the home looks great, but the stair and railing could have been chosen differently. There are so many other options out there that could have complimented the space better.
