The other day we shared a major color trend that we picked up on at the contract trade show, NeoCon - Pumpkin. Another color coming on strong this year is Plum - not remotely a bright at all - the color we were seeing lots of was a true, dark, smokey purple, which (not surprisingly) works really well with the ultimate "new neutral" gray.

I am doing grey in my new kitchen/den/breakfast room renovation. The wall are actually beige- but the sectional is a dove grey- all the accents will be pink,magenta, black and PLUM! Plum lighting, plum and pink rugs and me myself and I are crocheting a plum afghan.

In case you might thing beige and grey are dreadful- I stole my colors from this Romo wallpaper that I have in my bathroom.

It is a great wallpaper to use as a color reference, because it bridges the gap from beige to grey. I copied the background color for the walls and am matching my sofa and blinds to the delicious silver in it.
I just need more rooms!
I've never decorated with plum before but out of nowhere a couple weeks ago I got the urge to do my bedroom in a magenta-ish shade of plum with apple green.

YES! I agonized for weeks over which one to pick- they ain't cheap!
Plum is too close to blue which I detest so no plum here. Not even as an accent.
