I love the look of black and white kitchens, but had black and white checkered floors growing up and they were So hard to keep clean.

i think that black and white are perfect for a kitchen, allowing the food and accessories to take your focus... though, i'm not a fan of black and white diner tiles. we just got rid of ours because (it was old and) it made me feel like i was walking into a funhouse when ever i went into the kitchen... not a soothing feeling at all!!
