Check out the video above of Green Life Smart Life Home's Control4 iPad system, designed specifically to take advantage of a full 1024 x 768 resolution (no upscaled iPhone app here), with a stronger wi-fi signal during use compared to the iPhone and obviously easier navigation thanks to the larger screen for menu driven touchscreen operation.
Jeff Mitchell of RS Audio Video Design who worked on this project noted the iPad is a game changer in home automation, making the claim "he has sold his last [dedicated wireless touchpanel]. It will always be an iPad from now on." We're wondering if companies like Logitech are also worried about the transition from dedicated remote and touchpanel operations to smart phones with apps replacing them or if they some future tricks up their sleeves (or they may just become software-only developers perhaps?).
