A helpful tool or a breeding ground for profiling? Using a color-coded system, app SketchFactor lets users rate neighborhoods and write Yelp-like reviews regarding their sketchiness. Much negative press has been written, calling it, among other things, a way to "help the privileged avoid the poor." SketchFactor has responded, saying they're for everyone, with reporting mechanisms for harassment, low lighting, desolate areas, weird stuff, you name it."
