The Bean2Bed operates like a bean bag chair, but it's filled with foam instead of "beans." And that foam is in the shape of a mattress, stuffed into a bag for sitting, but ready to pop into a bed for sleeping.
The removable, washable cover is faux suede, and we're wondering if the Bean2Bed does justice to either of its functions, or suffers from splitting the difference. We may never know, since right now the Bean2Bed is only available for shipping in Europe, for £225 here. But it's an interesting concept.

White Enamel Flatwa...
maybe for napping, but this doesn't look very supportive as a sleeping-through-the-night mattress. I would not expect my guests to sleep on this.
You can get it out... but can you put it back?
It's like an enormous popple.
Rebecca - Ha, good call. I'm still bitter about the suspicious disappearance of my popple.
That's nice to have in a pinch. Unexpected guest you can't say no to.
Nothing particularly new here, actually--this company http://www.cordaroys.com/ has been doing the same thing for quite awhile, and is fairly mainstream. We've got one of their bean bags and it's held up very well for 5 years so far--it holds 2-3 adults easily and tons of kids for sitting, and when we opened it up to a mattress it slept two teenage nieces in comfort. I wouldn't recommend it for elderly parents to sleep on, but for kids/college-folk, it is great. And yes, it went back in the sack very easily--I was ready for a struggle, but no!
Candice Olsen used one of these in a make over some time ago. With that thought...it has to be good...though I don't know if it is the same one from this manufacturer.
no thanks. with the number of supportive inflatable mattresses on the market (that deflate to microwave size or less ), i'm not sure why i'd buy an ugly chair that becomes an uncomfortable bed. except for a "kid's space", this is a case where two (separate) is better then two-in-one.
How about this one http://sumolounge.com/omni.shtml ?
I am looking for sofa bed for my guest room.
I think that would be fun for a kids room! Not so sure if my adult guests would enjoy sleeping on it, though.
nice but it would begin to smell after a few uses... is it machine washeable (you'd need a big washing machine!)
