It's easy to see products in stores or design concepts on blogs and admire them, but it's sometimes harder to see how they'll work in a home. Cookie magazine has put together a show house for the modern family (a 3 bedroom apartment in New York) designed and decorated by some of our favorite pros and they're opening their doors through October 26th. Not in the city? You can check out photos and a list of resources for inspiration instead.

Above is a bedroom designed by Jennifer Ward of Minor Details. We especially love the row of hanging marionettes - a great example of artfully displayed toys doubling as decoration.

A bookcase of children's goodies in a second bedroom designed by KOKO design.

A small children's playspace behind the bed of the master bedroom designed by 212 Box.

See more images and a detailed list of resources for each item in each room here. If you're in New York, why not plan a visit to space in Battery Park City. The Cookie Living home is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the next two weekend with different activities (talks, book readings, crafts, cooking demos) planned each day.
