This is one espresso maker that would look right at home in an urban loft: Espresso Solo, a cool conceptual project by Israeli designer Shmuel Linski, which uses concrete as its primary material.
The unusual espresso machine makes only espresso (short and long) and features metal working parts built into a concrete case.
I'm loving the contrast of the raw concrete against the sleek stainless steel. Check out Linski's site for a few pictures of his design process.

This is going straight into my next daydream of my imaginary bachlorette loft, on the kitchen counter..
No fun on moving day. On the other hand, should come in handy to repel boarders.
Um...no!
Love it! I'll bet this makes one "brutal" espresso! heh heh...get it? "Brutal"? Brutalist architecture...? Tough crowd.
Doesn't concrete stain easily? This might get unsightly with sloppy use...or it might take on patina, depending on your outlook.
Lol this is so interestingly modern, yet prehistoric-looking. I imagine that if they used a concrete sealer on it, it wouldn't stain as easily.
Love it.
look at it this way, if someone breaks in, it doubles as a weapon!
I think the design of this concept is very similar to the machine briel-aquarius

That'd fit right into Fred and Wilma's decor.
LOVE the look, but do you need a separate machine to steam milk if you want a cappuccino?
