Black & Decker might have faltered with the iDevice moniker for their paper shredder, but the supposed safest shredding device is in a class of its own when it comes to industrial design within its category. The iShred looks more than a little bit influenced by Philippe Starck's Zikmu Parrot speaker, but the fluted funnel design is a welcome sight when considering the competition, where most shredder's designs seem deserving of destruction themselves.

- Fully enclosed blades
- Overheat, bin full, and overload warning lights
- Tiny shreds (.16" x .75")
- Auto Start/Stop/Reverse
- Shred up to 6 pages at a time
- Shreds credit cards and staples
- Sliding safety shield
- Viewing window
The good news, unlike many of the coolest devices showcased at CES, the Homedics Black & Decker iShred is available now via Amazon.

First thing I thought of when seeing it was Mr. Fusion from Back to the Future.
iShred? Seriously? Couldn't they have come up with a better name than that?
Well, it does perfectly describe what it does.
Neat. But kinda spendy at $100.
@King404: Yeah, you're right it does describe what it does. But the whole "i" designation is usually thought of as it relates to computers and more specifically Macs or Apple.
My problem is that I'm sure that Black and Decker had an advertising agency to market this product and pitched possibly hundreds of names. But some exec at Black and Decker put his foot down and said I want "iShred." It's the same thing with the proliferation copycats after "Got Milk" campaign came out.
why do you care so much about what the name is?
