A restoration of a version of the Mona Lisa at the Prado in Madrid reveals a clearer portrait of the famous scene. Removing a layer of black paint and varnish, there is greater detail in the Tuscan background, and the lady herself appears younger. The copy believed to be painted around the same time as the original by one of da Vinci's students. The copy will hang alongside the original at the Louvre in March.
