Kind of like Spain's outdoor version of Apartment Therapy's Small Cool contest. Cordoba's Festival de los Patios is an annual festival where participants actually compete with one another for the best patio. They open their homes and patios up to the public and awards are given to the best decorated patios...
We love that this event opens up everyone's homes to the community and visitors. It also brings a little fun competitive push to decorating and celebrating the culture's important outdoor spaces.
The festival dates back the early 20th century and was started in honor of this important, multi-purpose, pivotal room in Cordoban homes. See more photos and read more about the Festival de los Patios here.

A Breath Of Fresh Air! So Pretty!
I LOVE the idea of hanging the pots on the wall . . . . it's GORGEOUS!
That's glorious.
So pretty, I love their use of the walls to increase the planting area.
But how are the plants at the top watered?
Gorgeous, though no need for this comment except to add an end italics tag.
let me give that a try, slowdown...
"But how are the plants at the top watered?"
Rain?
Gardenhoses?
Little old ladies on ladders?
I lived in Cordoba for awhile. The best part is these patios are open until the hours of the morning and you go in and out of them donating some euros and getting some vino
