Prince circa Purple Rain

aka: Scout (14 months)
location: Los Angeles, CA
age group: toddler
difficulty level: super easy

materials: everyday clothes, scraps of white dress shirt fabric, black eyeliner

description: purchased a purple coat, sewed layers of white ruffles onto a white terry cloth bib, white tshirt, black pants, black eyeliner for mole and moustash
Thanks Amy!

Mr. T.

aka: Macadam (14 months)
location: Seattle, WA
age group: toddler
difficulty level: semi-easy

materials: yarn, velcro, pilot cap, gold chains

description: We used a henley he already had, borrowed a friend's pair of overalls and went to the craft store for the gold chains and the yarn, which I attached by sewing a velcro strip to his pilot cap and then tied the yarn to it to create the signature mohawk. We also borrowed a Mr. T Squawk box we'd given as a gift to another friend. Hearing, "I pity the fool," and "Quit your jibber jabber" through the night made it.
Thanks Keli!

Einstein

aka: Obe (1.5)
location: Ithaca, NY
age group: toddler
difficulty level: super easy

materials: Sweater with elbow patches, Yarn, Black eyeliner, Hairspray

description: I was obsessed with this idea and refused to cut my boys hair until after halloween so he would have enough of it to spray into a crazy Einsteinian mess. Other than that, I stitched E=mc2 onto the sweater and drew on some bushy eyebrows and a mustache. Was perfect for a not quite confident walker, who might have been encumbered in something more complex!
Thanks Rhiannon!

Elvis

aka: Camila (6 months)
location: Summit, NJ
age group: infant
difficulty level: super easy

materials: white bell bottom pants, white fleece with collar popped, a gold belt, face make-up for side burns (no wig needed, she has so much hair!)and a piece of gold cloth hand stitched beneath the popped color line for the cape!

description: Read about Camila's costume on La Familia Moreno
Thanks Christina!
