This weekend, we spent an afternoon reading on our back deck and drinking coffee. It was soooo nice, and the warm weather definitely affected our reading pleasure. With the notion that "our perception of a book is affected by the place where we read it," Coudal Partners just released their guide to Field Tested Books, where reviewers (including our own house tour host and author Elizabeth Crane) discuss what it's like to sit down with a good book anywhere from Evanston, IL to Buenos Aires, Argentina...
It's a great resource for summer reading. Links to a few reviews:

I just want to say that the deck (and the brick wall) makes me nostalgic for home. There's something about the scale and style of the deck that screams 'Chicago'.
Greer - You're so right. I saw that and immediately knew where it was taken! Home! *sigh*
I just read the review of Malcolm's book and was surprised to read almost nothing about her book.
