If you're a fan of that good ol' country style, you're gonna love this IKEA hack. Made from several IKEA GORM shelves strung together and stained white, this cheaper-than-usual DIY project will quadruple your storage without breaking the bank.
After moving into a new apartment spending all of their budget on the kitchen and furnishings, Jo had to find a solution to store all of her books and multimedia. She also needed a space for the TV and all of the gadgets that came with it. She needed to find a solution for all of this without spending too much - a.k.a. much cheaper than your average home project.
The solution she came up with involved stringing together a series of IKEA GORM shelves, covering a total of nearly 16 feet of empty wall.
In addition to the budget-friendly paint job, she added a pair of ORGEL wall lamps to help anchor the TV and even out the entire wall unit.
Apparently the project didn't take too long either - GORM being one of IKEA's less complicated units to put together over a Saturday afternoon. And heck, for $290, that's well worth the extra sweat piecing it all together.
We'd recommend some minor aesthetic tweaks such as controlling those wires and organizing the miscellaneous office items in a more tidy manner, but a nice job overall in terms of the concept.
