Image trying to recycle enough cans to pay for a wedding. How many do you think it would take? Andrea and Pete, of Spokane, WA estimate that about 400,000 aluminum cans should do the trick. Not only is the financing of their wedding green but just about every detail is green as well.

With their wedding day just around the corner (July 31, 2010), the can collecting and wedding planning is nearly complete. Andrea and Pete's wedding plan, complete with a potluck, DIY decorations and home-brewed beer, is all designed to spare the environment and celebrate their marriage.

Over the last 7 months, the couple has been recycling as many cans as possible. They've also been asking friends and sympathetic strangers to donate cans or even donate money from recycled cans. The couple's greenness extends into their daily lives, from an organic garden in their front yard, to composting and reclaiming building products whenever possible. Visit their website WeddingCans to follow their wedding preparation and recycling project.
