'Tis the season of warm and cozy. As those of us who live in colder climates start getting into nesting mode and adjusting our eating habits, clothing, and activities, why not bring that lovely, cuddly feeling into our home decor as well?
Knit, needlecraft and crochet decor doesn't have to be old and crotchety like what may come to mind from your grandmother's generation. This trendy decor has taken on a new spin thanks to the rise of the indie-craft movement. Now these traditional arts and techniques have become quite chic and hip.
Here are some examples of how knit decor can add much warmth to your home without sacrificing style. I sure wouldn't mind having some of these pieces around our home this winter.

Those knit stools are amazing. I'd love to have a bunch of those.
I have one of those ruffly pillows in #3 in fuschia.
I love the Knit Stools, I blogged about Wool Modern and I don't know how I missed Claire-Anne O'Brien. They're brilliant!
"If you are a serious knitter and like the look of this piece u might want to turn it into a DIY."
srsly?
Somecraftydame:I suspect they said that is because the cost of the cover is $690. That would be a no for me.
Oops. Delete that "is." I don't know how to knit to save my life, either.
I'm also excited about these "slumber pufs" (like knit bean-bag chairs): http://www.flipflipmeheidi.com/2011/09/super-lovely-slumber-puf/
Meh, I've been making this stuff for years (The stools in #1, not a real knit. They are formed.).
The chair cover kind of scares me. It's way too much knit, even for me.
Cute and cozy. I never see things like this except on AT.
This is amazing! Really lovely! Did you know that there are people who decorate streets and outdoor objects like this?
Here's a site from Germany: http://rausfrauen.tumblr.com/
I love those stools in the first pic. I'd love to have two or three in plastic bags in a storage room somewhere until the kids move out. :)
But that sweater armchair from Biscuit Scout (awesome name)? I would hate to have those little balls digging into my cellulite the entire time I sat in the chair.
speechless. and not in a good way.
I hate the stools, as much as I love 'knitted' things, when I saw them instantly I thought they were supposed to resemble brains. Too thick I think. Maybe I'm just weird.
Not a fan of the stools...they look weird to me. Also, my cat would have a field day on that knitted chair!
just saw these similar poofs - like the last round one, at world market in dc. various colors, only $70...was thinking about them to use for home staging projects. seem cool!
